Travel out of Newport on the B3323 following signs for Carisbrooke, then head straight across at the 3 successive mini roundabouts to reach The Middle Road. Continue along The Middle Road for just over 7 miles until you see signs on the right for Tapnell Farm.


Travel out of Yarmouth on the A3054 following signs for Newport then take the first right turn onto B3401, signposted to Ventnor. Continue on this road until it joins Wilmingham Lane, then carry on until the T-junction with Newport Road. Turn left here (signposted Brighstone and Newport) and follow road for just over 1.5 miles until you see signs for Tapnell Farm on the left. Please ignore first turning signposted “Tapnell” which is a residents-only entrance.


From 20th July to 1st September, you can use the new number 27 bus route to Tapnell Farm. Due to the success of this popular bus route to us last year Southern Vectis will be operating again for the 5 weeks of the school holidays only - offering a direct service from Newport and Yarmouth, with connections to the rest of the Island.

For a full day at the Farm Park, leave on the first bus from Newport Bus Station at 0930 and catch the last bus home from Tapnell at 1740 - giving over 6 hours to play! For an afternoon's fun, get the 1405 service from Newport or 1320 from Yarmouth direct to Tapnell, with the last bus back to Yarmouth at 1625 and to Newport at 1740.


You can catch the bus to Tapnell Farm from anywhere on the Island by asking for a ‘Through to Tapnell'. The fare will cover a single route from home to Newport Bus Station, where you’ll change for the Route Number 27 to Yarmouth via Tapnell Farm. ‘Through to Tapnell’ tickets cost £4.50 Adult / £3.40 Young Adult / £2.25 Child / Under 5’s go free.

There is also a taxi rank at Yarmouth Bus Station, next to the Wightlink Ferry, with bus links available to elsewhere on the Island.


The Tapnell Trail is a popular 6 mile circular walking route which runs through the grounds of Tapnell Farm. You can start the walk at the estuary crossing by The Causeway in Freshwater, which coincides with the old railway cycle path which leads to Yarmouth.
